San Deigo ~ Mission, Pacific & OB

Crasho'd after Dog Beach

Are we there yet?

Is it hot here or is it just me...yeah, I didn't think so. Time to take off, load Lucy and head for cooler temps...BEACH!

The drive is mellow. I am thinking as I pass threw Yuma why would people in the "old days" come here, much less survive. Guess they had a damn good reason. (No offense Yuma)

With potty breaks, gas stops and being pulled over by Johnny Law its only a 6 hour drive, could do that in my sleep. The fury ones are fabulous, they know its a road trip, chill out and we will be someplace that rocks in no time. Hwy 8 between Phoenix and San Diego is a long stretch of not much. My good fortune was picking Mission Bay RV Park which is just a short jaunt from Hwy 8 on I-5. Mission Bay is a decent park, very busy in the summer, I could only get a weekday stay because I didn't plan ahead. The park is completely cement but with large rv spots, some with a view of the bay. Lots of children this time of year but surprisingly this did not bother me. On day 3 a couple with 2 miniture pinchers made camp next to me. I am a tolerant person by nature but the constant barking of these 2 little beasts was maddening and the owners did nothing to stop them. I even made mention that I eat bigger dogs than that for breakfast to no avail, was pleased we were out of there soon. Made me even more proud of my 3 loves who where a big hit with 2 little girls from another camp who came by to chat and love on Hannah as they are getting a Great Dane puppy soon themselves.

I have always loved and felt completely at home on the SO CA COAST. This trip no different, hit some yarn shops via the beach cruiser Prudence. And OB dog beach was a hit with the 4 legged surfers. No attempting to grow tomatoes & peppers in my garden next year, we're going back to the beach!
