The Shady Dell ~ Miss ya'll!

Our Thanksgiving feast in Dot's, it was potluck and fabulous. Justin, one of the owners of "the Dell" and two gals I seriously don't remember meeting (my bad).

This fabulous lady so reminded me of a "cousin" in North Dakota Rhonda I just had to take her pic, she is always in full 50's garb. I Love it!

What a difference a season can make. Mid December and the temps here are what make living in Arizona perfect. Everyone back home in Seattle is hitting the loony zone living with all the gray skies, I remember it all too well. I appreciate the sunshine here so much more. The mornings are cool, the dogs and I enjoy a nice leisurely stroll, letting them play off leash in the greenbelts around the hood. It is coyote breeding season, not uncommon for us to come across a coyote in the mornings. I was very impressed the other morning when a coyote jumped on top of a 7 foot fence without any problems then stared us down, needless to say we turned and walked the other way.

This is also a great season for "Streamin'" Thanksgiving was a treat this year. I loaded up and went to Bisbee, AZ to stay at http://www.theshadydell.com/ for a week. I had wanted to go there for the longest time so when the invite from Louis & Sergio was extended I jumped on it. Terry & Greg were there as well. With our mix of new & vintage Airstreams we fit in perfectly. We met a wonderful couple Michelle & Alex along with their 4 month old son Dashel who keep their Vintage Del Rey there full time.

The town of Bisbee was not quiet what I had hoped. Seemed there were lots of people who have seen better days, Even tough old me who has lived in Seattle and seen many a street person and not been phased by it was walking a bit faster when I found myself alone in an alley with a man ranting how people are "breathing his air" and he was not too happy about it. The upside was I found the delight of crusing antique stores trying to find vintage goodies. I scored some 1950's dinner ware to keep in Lucy, so fitting. Also I had been wanting a pair of cowboy boots but find breaking them in to the wearable stage to daunting, I came across a pair of 20 year old women's Frye boots that are perfectly worn in along with a wonderful jacket to keep me warm on those old trailer park nights. Never thought I would be a vintage shopper but I am now!

My stay at The Shady Dell was definetely one for the memory books. I have never felt so at home in a trailer park before and could have stayed longer. The owners Justin, Jennifer and Justin's mom Annette are delightful hosts who make you feel right at home. I will be back next year for Thanksgiving!
