Welcome to 2010! I have to admit so far its been a challange for me. To say its been funky is an understatement but hoping to change that course ASAP. Best way for me to get out of my head is to hit the highway, take on a new adventure, see where the road leads me.
This weekend is my annual trek slightly north to Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood, AZ. Always a great time to be had with the 4 Corners Unit of the Wally Byam Caravan Club. Time to get the Airstream "Lucy" back on the road, she's been sitting in storage a month now and that doesn't sit well with me, got the itch for sure.
March 6th I will head out for my California annual adventure. Finally sat down this morning and made a plan. Would be hard for me to head up to and NOT take the 101 threw Santa Barbara along the coast to my destination of Lake San Antonio in Monterey County, so that is what I am going to do. I am so thrilled to be a part of the Western Women Airstream Rally, some of the best babes to ever tow Airstreams! We had so much fun last year in Pismo I've been looking forward to this ever since.
I figured as long as I am taking the coast highway why not take a couple days in Buellton, CA visit Slovang again and see other parts of wine region I didn't make to last year. Santa Ynez, Los Olivios all those places that were featured in one of my all time favorite movies Sideways. Besides if I were to show up at the Women's Rally without a case of wine what kind of host would I be? I can hang out there for a few days until the rest of the gals who live on the coast are ready to roll. How much fun to caravan with them!
My love of the grape is also taking me to Paso Robles after the rally for a week of wine tasting and exploring. 170 wineries in that area, yeah I think I can do that in a week :) Plus there is the Red Zinfendal Festival happening, miss that, oh I don't think so.
This gives me a couple weeks to hit the treadmill hard, try to shake off some unwanted baggage that somehow attached itself to well pretty much most of my bod and clear the fog that moved into my brain this winter. Got myself something to be excited about!
So Cheers to the New Year~ Happy travels ~ See you down the road.
